Messier 33 is a close neighbor to the Andromeda galaxy in the constellation Triangalum (which gives the galaxy its name). M33 is suspected to be a gravitational companion of the Andromeda Galaxy, both of which are moving towards our own milkyway galaxy.
Because this galaxy is so close to us (merely 3 Million Light years), one can even spot nebulas inside the galaxy. They are visible in this photo as red areas inside the galaxy. These areas are star birth places and light up in red color because of its high hydrogen density. Hydrogen emits reddish light when it gets ionised.
This galaxy is quite bright and big, it can be spotted even with binoculars, if one knows what to look for and is in a dark place.
