Project Longshot was a sci-fi themed game, on which I and some friends from the Software Engineering school coded on. Sadly we never finished the game, because developing a game consumes lots of time and we all moved on to other projects.
The idea was to create a complex space simulation game with modular ships set in the year 3567. It was meant to be a realistic space-ship battle simulator.
We used the XNA framework from Microsoft (C#, .NET) and BEPU Physics for the physics engine.
