M63 – The sunflower galaxy

The galaxy M63, the sunflower galaxy

This galaxy is located around 36million light years from earth and has about the same size as our own galaxy, the Milkyway. The halo around the galaxy is actually still part of the galaxy, it’s an area of less solar-system density.
In total, this galaxy it the home to around 150-200 BILLION star systems.

This was imaged over 3 nights, 9hours of total imaging time!
